Our speaker will be Dr. Walter Johnson, who serves as Dean of the College of Christian Studies at North Greenville University, where he has taught for twenty-five years. He earned a B.A. in philosophy from Furman University. He received his theological training at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, earning the M.Div. in biblical studies and the Ph.D. in historical and systematic theology. In addition, he completed thirty semester hours of graduate study in philosophy at the University of South Carolina.
Dr. Johnson has published accounts of the lives of many early Particular Baptists, as well as essays in various volumes of the book series entitled A Noble Company: Biographical Essays on Notable Particular Regular Baptists in America.
Dr. Johnson has served as youth minister and pastor of churches in South Carolina. He enjoys raising English bulldogs and, once upon a time, was a guard for the Atlanta Falcons—a security guard! He and his wife Deanna have three adult children, all of whom attended NGU.
