George moved to Clinton from Summerville in 1971 to form a new car dealer partnership, becoming director of parts and service and remaining in this partnership until retirement in September 1999. Originally from Pikeville, Kentucky, he played collegiate basketball at Pikeville College.
Sixty-one years ago he met and married Nancy, a native of Walterboro, South Carolina, while he was serving in the U.S. Marine Corp during the Korean War. They have three children, seven grandchildren, and one great grandchild, with two more greats expected soon. George and Nancy are charter members of Cornerstone and have especially enjoyed the annual family mission trips. Prior to coming to Cornerstone, George served as deacon at Summerville Baptist Church and then at First Baptist Church of Clinton. They are very thankful for the years of service God has allowed them to have and, God willing, look forward to many more.
